Hello everyone! Well I have finally got the mav running the way I want it and now the temp light is coming on when it never has before. According to my gauge I am fine, and it only goes on when I am stopped, it will go off when I am driving. I am not sure if we hit a wire the other day when we took the intake off to repair a bad seal or what. If anyone has any ideas as to what this might be I am open to suggestions. Thanks Jeri
    Car Rundown:
    73 2 door mav
    rebuilt 302
new edelbrock performer 2 intake and 650cfm carb
    automatic

    Thanks again.

I take it you have an after market gauge installed in conjunction with the idiot light, right???

ok, well assuming that you have both, there are only a couple of logical explanation.

    1. your temp gauge is off,

    2. your idiot light is not working properly. There is a temperature pickup in the intake on the driver side. It is a little tiny screw in the intake manifold in which a small wire snaps onto the top. Provided you are not actually overheating--which you need to verify, I am willing to bet that little temperature sender has gone bad finally and is giving off inaccurate readings.
