Sub for 1178 bulb?

    Is there a substitute for the G.E. 1178 lightbulb? I need to replace the one in my license plate lamp but can't seem to find them anywhere.

    i work in a parts store... i'll try to look it up asap :) maybe monday? your local parts store should be able to do this i'll try anyhow.

    In my Chiltons...

    ...it lists '70-'74 using a #97 Bulb and '75-'77 using the #1178. Maybe what you want is the #97.

    i am showing the cross reference as 1178 96 1232 all wagner numbers god luck
