    Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have any suggestions on high quality starter solenoids. Just went thru 3 of them from Napa. Two did not work out of the box. The side poles on the Duralast from Autozone were too short.

Need something reliable with side poles at least 5/8 inch long. I use 1g size cables from the one wire alternator and positive battery terminal. The connected are thick. Also attached the run wire to the positive side terminal.

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks!

You could also go Cole Hersey, they still offer quality products.

I was having this same problem some years back. I went to the junkyard and got some old Motorcraft ones. I replaced the one I had with one and have 2 spares.

I keep one in the trunk, the other I have stored away.

I go to local swap meets and buy NOS ones when I see them. Usually find a few each year. Typically get them for $10-$30. Much better than aftermarket ones.
