What year Taurus fan do I need to get to use in my Maverick? I saw a lot of threads on here about getting one, but none mentioned the year.

    Thanks.

Mine is from a 94 Taurus 3.8, but I think they were used from 92 - 95 on 3.8. You can probably still buy the whole assembly new. One of the best upgrades I ever did on the Comet.

Best to measure room you have with a tad to play with.

Works for some, not for some.

I dont remember what year tarus i got mine out of but i thought i scored big. Fan almost hovered on battery on floor.

I got rad in and its a no go. Tried every which way but loose Sir.

Like squeezing a 300 lbs man in a 32 waist speedo.

Possibly different thickness fan out there. Best insurance is to measure your space before fan hunting.

When I did mine I didn't like that the fan was only 1/4" from the water pump. I think my Griffin radiator is a little thicker than stock, too. I had already removed the raised part of the radiator core support and made it flat. I finally slotted the motor mount bolt holes so that I could slide the whole engine back about 3/8". Now I have over 1/2" clearance. Most will just cut down the fan shroud instead of going through all that.

I was running the Volvo fan which is the same motor as the Taurus fan, and I didn’t like how big of a draw it had. So instead I went with the black magic 3300 cfm fan. I trimmed the shroud by 1/8” and it fit perfectly. That is on a 2 core aluminum radiator. Works fabulously. I have 1/2-3/4” gap to the water pump pulley F03C551D-EB72-4BF2-972C-D6899B3F7622.jpeg 172C57AB-787D-4A61-8A82-C35544D8D091.jpeg

I had to trim my shroud to get that fan in with a stock 3 core radiator. I have less than a 1/4 " clearance, and the paint gets rubbed off the corner of the pulley front. I used the Volvo relay and BMW temp sensor (80-88C). I plan to install some LEDs so I know what the fan is doing.....someday.

I got this a year ago. Pulled it from what i thought was a tarus. Must have been a cougar. They call this the MARK-V fan. Too thick for any of my projects. Works great in window. Blows air across garage:lolup:

Now that tarus fan gotta be thinner.

I also had to trim mine and add some L brackets. Ended up replacing it after a year with the champion fan to match the new rad Mod. CC339.
