I have a quick question that you guys might know, my cars fan temperature module died on me and I want to replace it but I don't want to buy a whole new kit. So with saying that I was looking at just temperature control modules separately and came across this one with a wire temp probe. My question is can I convert the copper wire temperature prob to the electrical wire probe that I currently using.

What module went bad (a part/model number) and what is the info on the copper tube probe?
Are you talking about those high current PWM fan control modules, a simple temp on/off module, are the fan relays separate from the module...?

Most likely no, but too little info. It may be use-able with some extra wiring depending on what you have...

Right now I have two fans running off of a adjustable temp controller. The kit is very similar to this picture. [IMG]

So, it would seem the copper tubing sensor would have to completely replace your current controller.

The copper setup should simply close the contacts at a given adjustable temperature. (would have to see the specs on the copper tubing controller). That closing action could energize the coil side of your fan relay, which would turn the fans on.

Could be that the only thing wrong with your setup is that the relay went bad. What two fans are you using? Do they exceed the current rating for the relay?
