I would like to encourage everyone to attend a Maverick Get-Together a week from tomorrow on Sunday afternoon March 17th: Chris Stout the MCCI Representative from Iowa is coming through Austin, TX on vacation. The plans are to meet at the HEB grocery at the SW corner of the intersection of I-35 (Exit 221) at Buda. Then we will cruise just 15 miles into Driftwood, TX for BBQ at The Salt Lick Barbecue Restaurant http://www.saltlickbbq.com/(Family style all-you-can-eat). We would like you to bring your Mavericks, but pictures of your car will work, too. If you need more directions, let me know. UPDATE: Texas Maverick/Comet Get-Together and BBQ Let's plan on meeting at the HEB Grocery in Buda (south of Austin) at 3 PM next Sunday. This will give us all a good chance to chat. Sorry, won't be able to make it. "Pegasus" is stripped of all of her trim and heading to the paint shop. There is an off chance that my son (a new Maverick fan) might talk me into being there but coming home on a school night after 9pm doesn't really ring any happy bells. Maverick/Comet Get-Together Update Just wanted to thank everyone who came out to the Get-Together last weekend!! It sure was a pleasure to meet Chris Stout and his wife from Washington, Iowa finally after all the correspondences in the last several months! We had 9 people attend with a '72 Maverick Grabber and a '77 Comet 4-Dr driven to the event. Pictures of cars were also shared so cars could be viewed without being there. Most of those who made it, were from the Austin area, but Wayne Naumann from Columbus, TX drove in for the event. The Ausinites included Mark Monroe, Donald Monroe and his girlfriend, and Darryl and Lauralea Bauer. I think everyone had a nice time!! (And lots of BBQ)!!
