So yea, I'm still new to the whole maverick scene, still trying to get some questions answered as I can honestly say I've sat in a mav, once... when I was 9. The deck, any increased difficulty in installing a modern day, deck, you know, one with a CD slot sub... I got a 15" sound splinter RLP... and I'm going to try and pump a lot of juice into it, can the alternator handle it? or would you guys recommend a 12" Alpine Type R to reduce the shake... Thanks
define alot. i spent time with a guy who had 11 earthquake 1150's in his bmw. you can put in a larger alt which supplies more amps, a capacitor which allows the alt to charge it constantly and the stereo draw from the cap over the battery/alt or go with a smaller amp. speakers dont really matter much, its whats in front of them makin em dance.
I am going to say no. The Alt cant handle it. You should really upgrade to a 100 amp if your running that kind of juice. I have 1000 watts in mine with 100 amp alt and have no problems. Then again, its not like I actually run the full 1000. I dont think the car or myself can handle it. You turn it up just a little and you can really feel the spl. But what can I say. I love intimidating the wannabe tuner guys with the motor as well as the bass.
yeah i had the original alt. in it and it died within a year of having my200w amp with 2 12" hooked up to it. i then put a hundred amp alt in it, then put a 2500w amp in it. needless to say my lights would flicker every time the subs went off. so i put a Faraq capacitor from walmart in it with a bigger in line fuse and larger power wire and it's working perfect. no dimming, no nothing. just alot of rattling now.
