Driving the Maverick home from a car show Friday afternoon it started pulling to the left, then the right, then the left, etc. Here's what I found when I got home.

    Bad frontend alignment....;)

The 26 year old Goodyears I took off my Cobra in '18 looked great & still had half the tread. They were octagon shaped, rode bad & one developed a leak I could not find.

Old dry tires, steel belts with cracked rubber allows moisture in and corrodes the belts.

I still see the Goodyear ST Eagles at car shows fairly often. AFAIK not produced in over 20 years.

I bought the tires Feb 29 1992, had only eight birthdays. Stayed around town till I inst P/S, then took a couple cruises of over 100 miles without issue.

Just looked at my mileage log. Between 3/25/17(P/S install) and new tires 10/11/18, made eight cruises/trips of 100 to 145 miles. Total mileage 1910. And that's with speedo/odo registering 10% slow. Add another 191 miles, total 2101 mi.

Nothing wrong with the alignment. Don't remember when I bought them, I'll have to look for a date code. Who knows how long they sit on a dealer's rack until they sell them.

I had a front blowout in a F150 cruising at 60 and was lucky I had both hands on the wheel....lol...it started vibrating just before the tire quit. Only blowout I ever had. They are kind of violent.

Manufacture date code on the tire is the 5th week of 2006. Still don't remember when I bought it.
