tie rods

    76 2dr maverick 51,000 original miles
    I replaced the outter tie rods on my daughters Merc. Tracer and took it to a local shop to get aligned. They told me that a inner tie rod was bad also. I brought it home and looked at it and it looks fine to me. How can I tell if it is bad? Thanks.

    they were probably just hoping youd spend the buck for them to do the job rather then hassle yourself with taking it back home and doing the job yourself and comming back...

    is it loose, woobly, ripped up boot..?

    Nothing is loose or bent, and the boot looks nice and solid.

    agreed. sounds like a shop trying to get some more money out of ya :naughty:
