    What's the stock timing setting on a '74 Maverick, 250 I6?

What timing do you guys recommend, on a stock motor with a fresh timing chain?

With good gas you should be able to run at least 32 maybe 34 degrees of total timing .

How about initial timing, with no vacuum advance? It's set to 10 now, but I'm about to replace the timing chain, and was wondering what a good setting would be.

8 or 10 would be a good guess as long as it doesnt have one of those vacuum retard distributors.
