Finally got a set of wheels. Purchased a nice set of 14"x6" mustang/torino GT rims. Now will 215 70 14's work? I want more rubber on the ground than the 185s, and the wheel wells filled out more. Thanks

You can fit up to a 235 60 14 on them

    Nice buy on the rims!
What you need to do to fit your car out properly tire wise is to first: Measure the offset of the rims. That is the distance from the back of the bolt flange in the centre of the wheel to the inside edge of the rim where the bead of the tire seats. Second:
Measure the wheel opening across the bottom edge of the opening. Third: Take these two measurements to your favourite tire dealer and have him recommend a tire to you. All tires of the same ratio and rim size i.e. 215-70-14 do not physically measure out to the same diameter. You need the manufacturer's tire height and your dealers expertise to give your car that perfect look. Happy motoring. Alan

215/70s will fit/look fine on them.Might want to go w/205 on the front, sometimes taller rubber will rub the lower valence at part turn.
