A buddy of mine has an "almost new" set of BF Goodrich radial TA's that he wants to get rid of (they are too wide for his '85 Cutlass, rubbing when he turns). The size is "P255/60R15". I have a set of 15" wheels on the Stallion clone now, but with much smaller tires. These BF Goodrich tires look pretty wide, will I have any problems with rubbing/scrubbing in the front end during turns? I don't want to go through the expense of having them dismounted from his rims, then mounted on mine, only to discover they won't work. Hopefully someone here knows tires and knows the "limits" on a stock car.

    Thanks!

Thanks Dave for the link. I think I need to check my wheel offset (I did not purchase the 15" wheels, so I'm not sure what they are). As far as the tires go, they guy just bought them a couple weeks ago, so I know they are pretty new...

    Art,

We met in Dearborn last year. I'm heading up to Port Huron next week. If you decide not to get the tires they would fit my F100. Please let me know if they're available.

Edit: Change of plans. Not coming next week but 9/28-10-4.

I would not recommend that big of a tire for the front of your car. They might be even a little bit too big for the rear.

    Tire size

I have run 255-60X15's in the rear for years with no issues. You just don't want to corner very fast with anybody in the back seat. It goes without saying you need to get wheels with the proper offset. That size is rather large for the front. I run 215's, but you can probably get away with 225's.

235/60 is about as big of a tire as id want up front

They will fit the rears no problem on the right wheel

Ditto, too wide up front, just about perfect for the rear.
