I have 4 almost new 255/60/15 BF Goodrich tires. Will I have any problems setting them on 15x7 rims for a '70 Mav?

yeah 255 is pretty wide up front. I think Fan2428 is running 235s up front and he has some minor rubbing issues on hard turns, although his have been lowered and he is running 17 inch rims. In either case I still think they will be a hair to wide.

If you already have the 15X7 wheels you mentioned, get one or two tires mounted and do a test fit. Then you know what BS your car needs.

I did that with 235X60X15 and 15X7 wheels with 3.75" BS. Fit OK on the back but 4" BS would be perfect on my car, especially if I lower it a couple of inches.

Worked OK on the front too with at least 1/4" clearance, lock to lock. But, my springs may not have settled completely.

Don't think 255s would work well anywhere on mine.

255's will fit with no issues on the rear. but not on the front.
