So i just got my car back from the mechanic and the first thing i'm doin is the system. I've already figured out the stereo and 6 x 9's and i'm gonna put a 12inch sub but i don't want it in the trunk so i want to put it in the middle of the 6 x 9's in the rear dash....but i'm thinking this will be way to much vibrations for the dash to handle or it wont sound good. any suggestions on how to make it work?

Do a search for the sub speaker I installed in my car.

Well, I don't know about too much boom to handle, but I do know you will not be able to see out of your rearview mirror because it will be vibrating so much. These cars seem to be very good at transfering the vibrations from the rear package tray up through the roof to the winshield. The rearview mirror in my old '74 Grabber was so worn out it would slowly start falling downwards with the vibrations until it was about aiming at the floor. LOL

The Stereo in my 70 MAverick did the same thing. Kept tightening that mirror until it finally wouldn't tighten anymore Vibrated terrible when I cranked the vloume on some Ted Nugent or AC/DC LOL

i must have gotten lucky with a good mirror :) i have an alpine headunit with kenwood 4 1/2" up front and kenwood 6x9's in the back then 4 kenwood tweeters then 2 12" kicker 4ohm cvr's with an audiobahn 3200w amp, the subs are mounted in a sealed box with fiberglass face in the trunk..

i can feel the bass and you can hear is quite well outside the car but surprisingly my mirrors dont rattle or move at all.. hm.. lol, no complaints here.. my windows tend to rattle if they are all the way down but i just push them up a little bit..

the only reason i filled up my trunk with the 2 huge subs is because i got a killer deal on them and ended up getting both of them brand new for cheaper than what just one is..

    good stuff..
