The rest of the car is pretty clean it is actualy my wife's car .it use to belong to her grandpa. Her grandpa sold the Comet to my wife & she was in the process of buying
the car & about 55 days later both grandparents were killed in a car accident.my wife
was 15 it was her first car.my wife is 36 now. After that happened my wife had the
body work done & painted. The first time she took the car out some hit the passenger
side door & took a section of paint off the door.So she wanted to protect the car so
she parked the car in her mom's backyard for about 4yrs before i met her.But I got
it out of the grass in the garage & it's been in the garage every since.it has some rust in the cow down along the bottom the car has 74.000 orig miles .I want to
fix it up.It has a straight six 200.I want to put a v8 in it & make a muscle car.

If the torque boxes are rusted out, the cowl is bad, and it hasd rust along the bottom......sounds like a parts car to me. One would spend thousands of dollars fixing all that rust. Rust free cars can be bought right off of this message board from California for less than $1500. I realize the car has sentimental value, just trying to give you a better....and also cheaper option.....on having and driving a Maverick. Post some pictures if you get a chance....maybe it is not as bad as it sounds.

I am not too far from you either. Welcome aboard.
