I found a set of Torque Thrust 15" wheels for $300, with good tires. I'm currently trying to get a hold of the guy to get the tire sizes and backspacing, but in the mean time I'd like to know from some of you wiser guys if you think the tires are going to be too big/too small.

I've got a photo attached, please let me know.

    As always, thanks a bunch,
    Steve

Looks like Cragers to me. Lots of people on here have them, they look good.

Yipes. Seems the backspacing is no good all around and the tires are way too wide in the back. Am I mistaken?

Okay, backspacing is 3" all around.

    Front tires are 215/65R15.

    Rear tires are 275/60R15.

Will I experience rubbing, or any other problems?

Those look like imitation cragars to me,painted at that.Price sounds a little steep to me.

275s on 3" BS will probably stick out past the fenders by an inch or so. Probably 235 would be the biggest you could go.

Fronts are probably fine. I have 215/60 with no problems.

    How wide are the rims?
Backspacing means nothing without knowing width.
3" BS on a 6" rim is fine.
On an 8" rim, it is not nearly enough.
Are they all the same width???
The reason I ask is that the 215 has no business on a rim that will take a 275, and vise-versa.

Those rims look like my Cragar 15X8s. They have that squared off ridge from the low area to the high area. My 15X7x have a rounded transition. I assumed they were 15X8s. If so, 3" BS will be difficult with too wide a tire.

I think you need to actually measure those rims, both the width and the BS, before you throw down $300. Just hate to see you have to turn around and sell them to someone else because they don't quite fit.

AND, 15X8 will fit on the front. I had 245/60 on the front of mine as a test on 15X8 and they fit fine, until I dropped the front down 2" for a low rake. So I would guess if you don't drop the front too much, you can squeeze 15X8 in there with a smaller tire (225 or so).

They were knock-offs. And they were way too wide.

Rims are tricky, if just a little off they want fit at all. Keep looking & good luck. I'm on my 2nd set & now I have found another wheel that I like that will fit. Once you get a set it seems those things comes out from no where all the time.
