well gang, it is almost time to pop the 302 in the hundred dollar mav. my question is this- where can i find the bolts? bell housing to engine i mean. what do i ask for exactly? better yet, if any of you guys have them cluttering up your garage, i'd be happy to take 'em off your hands for a fair price. as always, thanks mav gang!

They are 7/16-14 thread and about 1 1/2" long. If you can't find any at a salvage yard (or a buddy) the local hardware store has them.

    Tranny Bolts

Be sure and get grade five or grade eight bolts if you buy them from a store. Much stronger than your average low dollar fasteners found in the "cheap" bins. In fact, any bolt used on your cars should be the minimum of grade five(has three diagonal lines on the top of the head). Be sure and run a thread tap into each hole first and this will clean out any debris that may cause inaccurate torque and thread failure etc.

What size are the ones on the lower half of the bellhousing that secure the flexplate to the bellhousing??
