tranny problems

    after a night of fooling asround in my mav i noticed the passing gear doesnt work anymore and when in drive the tranny doesnt shift properly.it like skips from 1st to 3rd. does anyone know whats up w/ it.thanx derrick

    I think we had the same problem once with dad's '73. The kickdown rod from the carb to the trans came off.

    Another thing to check would be your trans fluid level. If the kickdown rod is not off.

    i just came from working on the mavs tranny and everything is working except the kick down lever. tranny level is good and i just changed out the filter like a month ago.so i knew everything was good in it.the tranny still goes from 1st to 3rd with no second gear in drive but if i shift manually all gears work.its really wierd.let me know what you think.
