Well i had a 2000 s10 motor slang a rod, so we have a new motor going in it.. well im driving a 2001 oldsmobile bravada and i was driving today and i was on empty very low empty, and it bogged down so i thought i was out of gas because thats how the bogging seemed then i coasted to a gas station put $10 in it then left the gas station still bogging down wouldnt get any speed up couldnt get it over 30 and then it would bog down to just a coasting.. finally after turnning it on and off a few times i made it up safely. going 10 on a 45 mph road... what do u think is wrong.. Family thinks something is wrong ha been through 2 vehicles in 6 weeks.
Running it that low, it may have had some sediment in the bottom of the tank that plugged up the fuel filter. First thing I'd do is check the fuel pressure.
May be the cat plugging up or fuel pump not giving full pressure. Gas filter need changing. desk side guessing,,,
There is no cat on it.. Running magnaflows... and yeah i aint a chevy fan. I was about to trade my s10 for a sweet 2002 mustang gt when the motor went out
It ran fine before this happened right???Check fuel pressure...Needs to be 60 PSI at idle.(If its CFI) 45 to 50 if its TBI. If its low...Change the fuel filter...If its still low...Replace the pump, its going out on you. Chances are you picked up crud/water off the bottom of the tank and should change the filter anywhoo. Cant tell you how many fuel pumps I do in the S-10s'. The fuel actually keeps the pump cool, If its high in miles and has never been done, pump is most likely culprit. Ran it low...Pump got hot... Started acting up...Its only a matter of time now before it goes completely. If the pump has allready been changed somwhere along the line. Check the harness connector at the pump. Some of the aftermarket pumps require you to change the plug on the harness to mate to the new pump. If this is the case...You are not getting sufficient voltage to spin the pump under load (it will idle fine) The splices are probably corroded (unless done properly) killing voltage to the pump...Good luck!!!
