Just wanted to give y'all some updated info on Penna. 2003. It is looking to be one of the biggest meets short of the Roundups! We are calling it "Cruisin' for the Cause". It is a charity benefit to raise funds for the Lupus Foundation to aid in research and treatment of this devistating disease. The meet is sponsored by the Homestead Restaurant of Prospect, Pa., where it is being held on the 23rd, and Hot Rod News Magazine with us right in the thick of things. I had a meeting with the Foundation and they are supporting our venture 150% and are very excited and appreciative of MCCI for their support. I have already booked one band, "The Businessmen", a classic rock band, and have tentative booking for "In Transit" with Kenny Mitchell formerly of the Marcel's. We are looking to have vendors on site and many door prizes and raffles with the support of the business community. Of course, a DJ will be spinning platters all day until the concerts. Great food will be available with the extraordinary culinary talents of chef Keith Huggins of the Homestead. Mind you, this first day meet is being opened to the entire cruising community to attend, but the Mavs and MCCI will be at the forefront. Our second day will be attending the Regatta cruise as this past meet since it was so well received and was a great time. The accomodation location is being changed to the Comfort Inn on Rt. 422 in New Castle. This is a more convienient location to both meets. Stay tuned for more info as the date comes nearer. Detailed accomodation info will be available here and in Shorthorns early in '03. Other than your rooms, there will be no charges for these events for anyone attending. Remember, mark your calendars for August 23 & 24 for the Pa. Mav/Comet meet and "Cruisin' for the Cause"!
