We have been working on the tr7 for about a month. On wednesday we finally fixed the brakes so we drove it a little. When we first drove it it ran like crap. Then we pull it back into the garage and change the plugs and it ran good. It was funny to watch my dad burnout in front of our house because he is usually the guy that driver 10mph under the spped limit and would yell at me for going 55 in a 50.

It may never hook up. A guy here in town has a Triumph Spitfire with a moderatly built small block stroker, narrowed 9 inch with 15 inch wide slicks, and it barely hooks as it is (and on those rare occasions when it does hook, it's wheels-up-out-of-control-crazy!!)

V-8 powered imports always make for fun and wild rides though!

My Fiat seemed to hook up pretty good. You couldn't just get in it hard right off, but once you were at 10-15 mph it would then hook up fine. And it had a 4.56 gear, putting out around 300 horse. What kind of rear suspension do those Triumphs have? I'd stay at about half throttle up until 15 mph, and then nail it and shift to second. Alot of times I would just take off in second gear. If I can get it to hook up when I put it back together, I have no doubts the car will be capable of pulling the front wheels. And I'm shaving more weight off at the same time I put the new motor and transmission in.
