I HAVE A DUAL DIAPHRAM ADVANCE ON MY DIST. I KNOW ONE CONTROLS TIMING ADVANCE AND I HAVE IT CONNECTED TO THE REAR OF THE INTAKE. THE OTHER ONE IS CONNECTED TO MY CARB. IS THIS RIGHT? IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY VACUMN ON IT. I THOUGHT THE CARB(4BBL) SHOULD HAVE VACUMN RUNNING TO IT TO OPEN THE SECONDARYS. IT SEEMS THAT MY 4 BBL IS NOT OPENING ON ACCERATION.ANY IDEAS? THANKS

You're right about the vacuum to the carb. First thing I'd do is to check all the vacuum lines and check for leaks. Old lines should be replaced. For as cheap as vacuum line is, there's no excuse for having bad lines. Proper routing of the lines is important and so a diagram is crucial. They're out there. An inexpensive vacuum tester for leakdown and proper pressure is good to have. Most manuals tell you the procedure for testing.
