    Hi all,
I was looking at my engine the other day, and since it is a roller motor it is a little different, but why does it only have a breather on the passenger's side. I noticed the difference before, but I am wondering now, is there a reason the 5.0 wouldn't need one on each side? Why do the old 302s and 289s have breathers on both sides, if the 5.0 doesn't need it. I know they're there to alleviate pressure, and vent gasses, but why only one on the 5.0? Do I need to change valve covers for some reason, now that I switched back to carb? Thanks.

The differences are that the 5L EFI engine setup has the PCV breather port in the rear of the lower intake manifold behind the upper plenum so only one cover has an oil fill and a small air port into the air inlet tube.
You need to set up the covers to work the same as the older 302. There are various rubber inserts to do this and drilling the cover or go back to the old style covers.

Thanks, Ken! Now I need to find some valve covers.
