I was wondering if anyone has ever bought one of those Reproduction Voltage Regulators from Auto Krafters, and if so are they any good? I recently got one as part of my store credit that they issued me for that bum repo sending unit I sent back to them, it arrived today though I haven't installed it yet (still tryin to get the brakes perfect). Thanks to that sending unit i'm a little skiddish about reproduction parts I know they're not all bad but to me it's a gamble you take yer chances. Anyhow the regulator I got is the one with the blue Autolite stamp.

    Hi Joe,
I'd say use the regulator. Unless you go out and find a NOS regulator,(Big Bucks) every regulator you buy at any parts house now will actually be a reproduction. It should work just fine. If by chance it ever does go bad, save it. You can generally change the case out with most any other regulator you buy at the parts house and still have the same original look. Some of the cases have two rivets in them while some have small screws in them. Either way, it's not that hard to change them out.
    Good luck,
    Ray
