hi all. im hoping one of you may be able to help me, im looking for a hot wheels (mighty) or other maverick, in poor shape preferd, bad or no paint, broken or missing wheels. as long as its something to work with (ok body and chassie). i would like to restore one somewhat so i would prefer cheap. im sure one of you has one in a box somewhere collecting dust . please let me know, thanks..
I have a Johnny Lightning Mad Maverick still on the card. Its purple and doesn't need restored. If your interested in it let me know. I know you would really like to have a Mighty Maverick. I got one on ebay last year that is in fair to good shape for $12 plus shipping which was a good deal(NOT FOR SALE) So look around on ebay. I've seen mint on card cars for over $600.00. yep that was 6 hundred dollars. But a beat up one you can get for around $10 if you watch closely. Just watch out for the cowl missing on the early ones with opening hoods and broken window posts on all of them(they fail on the mighty maverick) Yep, Hot Wheels is another passion of mine.(don't tell the wife she thinks they're for my son). Russ
Mighty Rusty You have to be very careful selecting an old Mighty Maverick for restoration. If the cowl vents are rusted out, your in real trouble! Can you imagine drilling out all those little spot welds to get to the rust? lol -Doug
so i got to check the vents on thoughs too man, i thought i could get away from that with the little mav lol. time to get the spot weld cutter back out im just lowering my standards, i need something to bring to the next pa meet
Hot wheels Box Calender I agreee it could be hard to restore, what motor will you be swapping in that I think even with a torch and some time this one could be tough , Will it you do a disc brake conversion as well... He HA Hey guys, My wife gave me a Hot Wheels box calender for Christmas, and I kept the MAD Mav page, so is that right that both Johnny Lightning AND Hot Wheels used the same name for their Maverick miniature? The one I have on the Calender page is Dark Blue, seems strange they would use the same name.
My time machine is stuck in 2004 besides i just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention, sorta like you.
ive come across a few since then, but i thank you for the offer... with gas at 3.60 a gal here thats the only way i can afford too enjoy my cars anymore
hotwheel mighty maverick for sale First off hello everyone I wanted to let you guys know about a 1969 mighty maverick i have for sale I actually found this car in the bottom of my nephews toy box this weekend during a garage sale I was having. I noticed the redline wheels right away But considering how good of shape it was in i figuered it was somekind of reproduction until I looked on bottom and noticed the year 1969 on it. Granted I am not a collector and probably destroyed more of these than my fair share when I was younger but this car Immetiately stood out with the complete rear wing and almost perfect paint. i did a little investigating on the net and found out it is a U.S. production model purple in color wheels are in good shape, windows, paint, wing all good If anyone is Interested please email me at lil_leroy5@hotmail.com thanks
