what do these ports do?

    I am guessing that your car was originally an A/C car ... pretty sure that is where all the lines attach to supply vacuum to the A/C and Heat controls ...

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    Definitley a factory AC car.

    I have seen these distribution blocks on a Maverick before. Basically just routes vacuum hoses where needed. Somebody might have unhooked and re-routed yours.
