These have been released several times over the years, generally to hobby shops, not Wally-Worlds and big retailers. Wal-Mart is carrying some Testors models again so maybe they'll have a wider release this time.

What I want to know, and have never been able to find out for sure, is what happened to the JoHan Maverick tooling, and why its never been re-released it...

walmart is actually going to stop carrying plastic models now

what ever is on the shelf at your local walmart is all they'll ever have. nothing new is comming. they will still have die-cast kits though, like fresh cherries.

i dont know if that includes this comet which does have a die cast body i believe. i thought this re-issue was supposed to be out back in OCT.

The Testors Comets are a re-issue of the JoHan Pro Stock Comet kits, just under the Testors brand. They are a true plastic model kit. Guess we won't be finding any at Wally World though... Better buy online when they are finally re-released and expect to pay more than $10 to $15 a kit...

That's a shame. At least now we know. Same thing probably happened to the JoHan Maverick tooling. Wonder if JoHan or Testors would be willing to sell what's left of the tooling...?
