I'm trying to insure a classic truck I just bought, but this question applies to my Maverick as well. I can't find a classic insurance company that will insure them without being in storage. I live in an apartment. Hagerty says it has to be in storage. I'll have to have 1 of them in storage anyway but I hope they don't actually mean a garage. Other than that, State Farm wants around $80 for my truck, and the maverick isn't in use still. That's a lot.
I have used Hagerty on my vehicles for the last 25 years. I am a retired insurance agent and sold Hagerty and never had a problem with them and would recommend them to anyone.
oh cool. so they're ok with it being in a storage facility over the other 2 that wanted it garaged. they will both be covered, just not in a garage.
Many years ago I tried to get classic car insurance through Hagerty and they turned me down because my car at that time had nitrous. They didn't allow any power adders. Went with Grundy, they didn't care as long as the car was kept locked up. I had to send them a photo of the car in my garage but I don't think it matters what type of building it's in. Now I have State Farm and it's bundled with our three other vehicles so it's cheap. Even the Gecko sells collector car insurance now.
