what is this bracket for?

    I'm sure this is a simple question but what are these brackets for? At first I thought they were lifting points for removing the engine but they don't look sturdy enough. IMG_1168.JPG

    That's what they're for, doesn't take much girth to lift one out.

    That was used by the factory when they installed the engine, and they just left them there...

    If you want it to look original or ever plan on pulling the engine, leave them. Factory lifting eyes for installing the engine/trans.
