My Boss wants to get into rebuilding cylinder heads. I wouldn't mind it either for my own purposes. I know whats involved in rebuilding but, i want to get a good list of machining tools I would need. It's quite a task starting from scratch and I don't want to overlook anything. Any experienced help would be appreciated.
get one of these http://www.sunnen.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=41&NavID=680 and one of these http://www.dcm-tech.com/dcm_products/head_and_block.php#3810 and you should be all set to go that is assuming you have the proper cleaning tanks. I have redone several heads on a bridgeport mill and it can be done but not quicly enough to make any substantial money off of it. If you are doing it for your personal use it is fine The machines I have given you links too have adaptors for different heads so setup time is 1/8th the time it would require on a bridgeport.
