I plan on buying stands with my next paycheck to get it up in the air and off the tires and buy some of that stuff that makes gas last longer but what else do you all recommend doing? It will be in a garage. Do I need to start it every week to keep the webs out? If not how often should I start it?

    Winter Prep

Being you are in the great state of Colorado, anti-freeze in the system is first on the list. Then I would pull the spark plugs and fog the cyl. with WD-40 or similiar lube. replace the plugs and then do the same to the inside and out of the carb. For long periods of storage, I have even loosened all the rocker arms to take the pressure off the springs. But for a few months is not really necessary. Some people change oil and filter but because of condensation in the cold months, I would wait till spring to do this along with maybe trans and even rear end lube.

If you are going to run it a couple of times during this time(not necessary if you fog everything with lubricant) then you should be OK for the duration. Also good idea to remove the battery and maybe put it on a trickle charger once and awhile. I remember living in Nebraska many years back and having no garage, would put a 100watt light bulb under the hood and if all else failed put a pan of charcoal under the oil pan to get what ever car I had at the time, to fire up in those sub zero temps( one year in the 80's if memory serves me right, went 30 days and never got above zero) laid in the snow many times changing starter or whatever was broke. I guess that is one reason I'm still here in Arkansas. HE HE HE.
