i'm looking for something like an old school cragar, 5 "spoke" for a decent price, name doesn't matter. looking for something close to 8 inches wide, but keep 13-15 inch wheel. the fronts should be narrower, and a little smaller...i like the raked effect...lol

They don't make a 5-spoke crager for a 4-lug app.Weld Draglites look good, and they should be easy to find....look to the 5.0 mustang crowd. The Draglites are a dual bolt pattern wheel, the 4 lug 79-93 mustang pattern is DIFERRENT than the Maverick, but the "other" pattern on the wheels fits the 4-lug Mav.Some aftermarket 5-spoke style wheels are available for your car,but they usually have a flush fit lug cover, don't really resemble the old crager style. If you just gotta have a 5-spoke style wheel(crager,Pro star, torque thrust, etc)you might want to consider a 5-lug swap on your car.BTW,the reason I like the draglites so well is that they are available in just about any size/offset you need so if you get 'em new you can get just the right offset/size/rake you want. And then when you're tired of 'em,sell 'em to the fox mustang crowd.

Backspace is how much of the size is "out back".example;you got a 15x8 wheel w/4" backspace. That means that 4" is to the rear of where the lugs go.And 4" are to the outside. So that wheel is split evenly. The more backspace you have, the shallower the wheel will appear on the out side."Deep-dish",or"reverse-dish" wheels usually have alot less backspace as most of it's size is in front of where the lugs go.You check backspace to make sure that you don't get into clearance problems w/leafsprings,a-arms,inner and outer fenders. On a Mav,you probably don't want anymore than 4.5" backspace as you'll be getting real close to the springs out back.Front shouldn't be a big deal as it sounds like you don't want a really wide wheel up there anyway.BTW,most stock wheels(newer stuff don't count)for the older Fords(Mav/Torino/Galaxie/etc.)have a backspace of around 4.5".
