sigh, well i'm trying to find a set of wheels that looks simular to the weld pro star, but i can't find any that have 4 1/4 backspace with 8 inch width , any suggestions on different wheels, sizes etc? pics will be greatly appreciated, i'm just trying to avoid buying those thorq thrust style wheels.

Get 4 1/2 and put a 1/4" spacer behind them.

I dont think you would need longer studs for a 1/4". I wouldn't if it was my set up.

You will just need a longer shank on the lug nuts, thats what I had to do for my Weld Drag lites.

If you do install like Mavaholic says and pertaining to what ModMav71 said...It really depends on how the spacers are machined.....The shank of the lug nut has to go through the spacer. I myself wouldn't sweat this 1/4 inch.Just my:2cents:

    FYI
Summit has some new house brand aluminum rims that are perfect Dragstar and Draglite knock-offs.
I ran across them on the site when researching rims a few nights ago.
    They are dirt cheap...
Summit is all the sudden doing blatant knock-offs of all the most popular products.
They even have a carbon copy of the Wieand Stealth for the SBF for 125 bux!
    Good deal IMO.

They are probably made by the same company but bought by the truckloads for a good price.

So Summit wants to be the 'Wal-Mart' of speed shops?
    Probably right.
Super Shops tried that a while back. I worked for them for a while when I was a young man. I thought they did things all wrong though. Instead of a good price and bulk purchases/sales, they focused on a convoluted commision system for the guys behind the counter.
Led us (counter guys) to push folks to the product that gave most commission, rather than what a person really needed. Also kept prices high, inventory low, and made counter guys into pushy salesmen.
Glad that company is done. However there is a vacuum out there for Summit to fill.

IF your going to run skinnys on the front, go with the 4. If your going to run a normal 60 or 70 series tire go with at least a 6. I doubt tech inspection would be able to see or notice a spacer on a back wheel.

Exactly right... I wouldn't go with a 4'' rim for a driver... to many safety issues at higher driving speeds for them. They look great and everything but on a driver Id go w/ the 6'' and run a 60 or 70 series tire... looks good 2 and alot more tire to actually steer it

I remember that...g.p. was what is was all about. If you didnt make the top 100, you would just get your crappy salary. Sold alot of mallory and erson crap , which was owned by super shops, because of this.:slap:

Hey... not all Erson stuff is crap... We've ran several of their cams over the years and not had any complaints about them :p
But I get what your saying about them selling it because they owned it.
