will that be the end of shelby production?

i mean no offence, the guy is getting up there and im sure he doesnt have years and years more left to build and design super cars so hopefully no one has a problem with me bring it up.

but once he's gone will the company still be around? im sure it will from a restoration stand point, but will there be anything "new"? will his name still be making it on to tomorrow's super cars even tho he had nothing to do with their creation? would the world still regaurd a shelby, that corrol him self had nothing to do with, as a shelby?

im sure the price of everything he's had a part of will rocket up when that sad day comes but what about the next generation of cars after that? or will that be the end?

Wonder if he has family to carry on the business? If not, wonder if he'd want to adopt a 53 year old son?

I'd say the company will probably continue, but you probably won't see anymore new "Shelby" cars developed.

Shelby Inc. might try a few versions, but hard to say if consumers will consider them as special or desirable without the actual involvement of the man himself.....if the company makes one or a few, and they're good, done the way Shelby would have, and the public accepts it, they might be able to keep the legend alive.

Interesting...just read a magazine article about him, and started thinking the same thing...

Hate to admit it, but I would bet you just read the same article...

You hit the nail on the head. It isn't important if shelby cars keep going rather his children carry on his name. That's real immortallity.

    i was thinking...

enzo's been dead for years now right?

doesnt seem to be hurting sales of all the cars produced under his name since he passed right?

The company is more than just one guy. I'm sure when he does die, they will just keep on doing what their doing now. When Henry Ford died, Ford kept going, when Bill Gates dies microsoft will keep going. I'm sure Shelby isn't the only one at the company that has a say in anything that happens, and I'm sure if he did die, all those people wouldn't want to lose their jobs.
