which rear ends ratio?

    anybody have any idea which ratio i have in my rear end of my 1970 ? 200cid motor with auto. the tag inside the door is all scuffed up so i cant read it. and of curse it is too darn cold to be sliding around trying to read the tag on the rear. thanks

    I don't know if this will help much but I have a 72 and it had a 2.75 from the factory with a 200cid

    My '70 w/ 200 cid and manual trans came w/3.08's. According to my interchange manual if it has the 7 1/4" ring gear (removable rear cover) it could be either a 2.83 or 3.08. If you have an 8" ring gear (not likely, but with a removable center section) it could be a 2.79 or 3.00. You may have to look for a tag on the rear it's self or jack up the rear and count how many times the wheels turn for every rotation of the driveshaft.
