Up until a few years ago most trucks looked good to me. I liked the fords until 2004, the chevies and toyotas until about a year or 2 ago. I have never been into dodges but they used to look good too. I am wondering why all manufactors have decided to makes the trucks look square.

I'm trying to picture which trucks you are referring to. I grew up with a 74 Chevy truck in the family and that was square. I also remember the Dodge looking like a brick. My 02 Dodge looks like it has rounded fenders and the Toyoyas I was looking at also has rounded fenders. Ford seems to be rather square.. and flat on the sides..

I agree with you Mr. Hodges. In my opinion, fwiw, the last good looking Ford trucks are in my garage:

I think they look good blocky and square and not so smooth. Its a truck not a runway model, I like it to look beefy and manly.

The new Tundra is more rounded than the F150 is. I think the new F150 is the hotness.

The only trucks that aren't boxy were made before the late 50's. Excluding those, my all time favorites are the '67-'72 bump side Ford trucks and the '99-'04 Lightnings. My least favorites are probably the '56-'60 Ford trucks, and the '73-'79 dent sides - excluding the '78-'79 Broncos, I love those.

I like the '04+ as well, my grandpa has an '05 F150 XLT he bought new, and it's a sharp truck. Doesn't hurt that it just hit 130,000 miles, and the only thing he has ever done to it is brakes, spark plugs, and change the oil.

My F150 is an 83 and I'd say that yes, it is boxy. But it's great truck.

Boxy is fine. It's a truck. The newer "rounded" bodies do nothing for me. The Jap stuff has gotten incredibly ugly (both the small & fullsize) in recent years. The problem I've got with ALL of the newer full size trucks is they're so BIG! These new 1/2 ton pickups make my old '70s F100/F150 look like little Rangers. I'm glad they're heavy duty & stuff, but I'm not paying 30k for a pickup truck.

BTW, my favs are '73-79s, '92-96s and I really like the ugly duckling '57-60s too. My least favs are the '80-86s(but they're growing on me), the 67-72s(good looking trucks, just more rust problems,no disc brakes and less room inside than the '73-79s. My first truck was a '70 F100)and the '97-up does nothing for me looks wise.

My favs from GM include the '55-59s(and the '60 with the quad headlights and eyebrow hood), '67-72s, and '81-87s. Least favs are '73-80, and '99-up.

If I had to drive a Dodge truck, the square '71-92 would be ok, not too crazy about the '93-up "baby Kenworth" trucks('cept for a diesel dually maybe)

what are you going to haul in it? Plants and groceries(lets not forget the whole family!)? Where does the plywood go? the 2x4's...the tools? Is that a bed or a 3rd row seating without a roof? :p

I dont like the blocky look...doesnt look manly at all...looks plain ugly, along with those trucks with the plastic wheelwell skirts that has the fake little rivets in them....I mean really...what were they thinking?

Bite the bullet and step up to a hemi truck! They got the goods for any enthusiast.... The ford trucks do look good but that turd under the hood is really weak. Chevys.... well, there just a chevy. Not bad truck but, the hemi out runs and out powers and has one heck of a history(even thou the new one doesn't have alot in common with the original). Everyone has an opinion and mine is dodge has the best performing and looking trucks out.

Sorry wouldnt buy a Fiat if my life depended on it, so the "Ram" trucks are out of the question. The biggest question is when the contract with Dalmer for engines runs out in 2012 will they have the HEMI anymore? It was one of the technologies retained by Dalmer when they jumped ship.

That and the new Raptors are so dang good looking
with the added benefit of a 411 hp 434 foot pounds of torque 6.2L motor, while maintaining fuel economy that the 5.7 hemi rated at 383 hp and 400 foot pounds of torque can only dream about.

Plywood? I have that delivered...fake little rivets? I don't see any?
Either way, this truck has way more room than my 06 GMC crew cab, and full warranty. Plus it's a FORD, the only company to not take money from the government (in both the US & Canada) to save their a$$es. The 5.4L will be more than enough to pull my car trailer, and whatever else.
My Pickups are used for travelling, and weekend driving around, I have work trucks, so if I need some big or long, I just use one of them, and since I own the company, no one can say anything.
