Window(drivers door) replacement on 1974 Maverick

    I need help with instructions on how to remove the door panel on my car so i can replace a vandalized window. I cannot figure out hoiw the door panel comes off. Im sure its very obcious and if it were a snake it would jump up and bite me in the @$$. I could really use the help!:confused:

    You will need a phillips screwdriver for the window crank handle. Remove it and the plastic shield. Next, with a 1/4" drive and 3/8" socket, remove the bolts that hold the arm rest. Remove the door handle with the screwdriver, and remove the armrest. You need a wide putty knife or a panel removal tool to remove the clips that hold the door panel door on. Remove these carefully, as the board on the backing will rip and break fairly easily. Remove the panel. To install, do the reverse. Hope this helps.

    Well said Earl ... If you use a stiff puddy knife and feel between the panel and the door you can feel where the clips on the panel attach to the door... simply get right under the clip and pry it out ... usually one stout jerk will get it ... there are 7 on the top and 7 on the bottom and 2 on each side ... Just make sure that you are centered on the clip ...
