As I mentioned last year, the MMB will finally be converted to a new forum software called XenForo. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the conversion is scheduled for the weekend of August 2, 2014. To familiarize yourself with the new forum software and to give me feedback prior to the conversion of the MMB, I encourage everyone to register on this new forum I created. It uses the XenForo forum software and has most of the features found on the MMB. Everything on the MMB will be converted to the new forum software except for videos in the gallery. Videos will be re-added in the future when video support will be added to the gallery. Although all PMs will be converted, they will be converted into conversations with sent and received PMs showing in the same view. This may make finding old PMs difficult so you may want to export them prior to the conversion. Here is a guide on exporting PMs from the MMB. I have also written user guides on new forum functionalities. Please take a look at them and test out the new forum functionality prior to the conversion.
I personally prefer VBulletin, but this forum is too valuable to leave it becuase of a software change
I registered over there. It looks good. I think you have done a great job constructing this board. Looking forward to see what you do with the new one. I tend to be resistant to when folks change software on me ... probably a form of laziness. You get to where you can navigate in your sleep and now with a new platform you might actually have to think about what you are doing ... LOL. I have faith that the new board will be great. Keep up the good work.
Xenforo was developed by the same developers that created Vbulletin 3, which the MMB currently uses. As such, Xenforo will have a familiar feel when compared to other forum software.
Don't like how the message area only takes up the center of my screen. Maybe it's something on my end with a setting? This current board takes up my whole screen, with the new one I have a good 3" of just blank screen on either side.
I've been on a Xenforo board for a year or so. Personally I don't care for it, but "you gotta do what you gotta do" and I'm good with that...
That is the right site. It all depends on your screen resolution. Assuming you are on a Windows 7 machine, right click on your desktop and select "Screen Resolution" from the context menu. It will show you what your current resolution is.
Jamie, you may now select either a fixed width or fluid width. Here is a guide explaining both and how to change the layout.
