The only reason I would say no is, which I did, if you love to wash and clean your car that is the best color. I have a black Mav and all I do is clean it. It was fun at first but after 6 years of it you get burnt out on it. I love to got the shows and stuff but anymore I give a good wipe down and then leave it but most people with black cars will spend all day right there dusting it off rubbing it down. But hey this is your ride and I don't like to tell others what to do with them but I am just saying if you don't like to clean a car don't paint it black.

besides the fact cleanign a black car is hell.... i seen a maverick (my first time! in VA) at a lil car sow thingy they do like twice a month in a parkin lot next to wendy's :) It was BEAUTIFUL! black with a shiney metalic like green flames... just amazing, next time i will take my digi and get a pic of it...

but i was also thinkin, if u like a "wild" style, how about an off white, but very close to white, and some lighter metalic green flames... then again what i am pictuirng in my head is prolly totally diffrent then everyone elses picture they get.

    :D

The cheapest way to go is a place lie Macco or Earl Schribe. They usually have deceint painters. Problem is their prepwork sucks. Therefore do your own prep work and remove as much stuff as you can. You can end up with a pretty decient paint job for around $500 or less. I paint my own cars and spend anywhere from $800 and up just for materials.

Just to give and idea of what some places charge....... I talked to my father-n-law last weekend and he is building a 32 three window coupe and he has the body all ready for paint, he has everthing off the car, doors, fenders, running boards, well you get the idea, all the body shop has to do is prime paint and rub the car, nothing to tape off and nothing to put back together. He is paying $5600 for the paint job on his car. This is at a local street rod shop in town. I told him he is nutts, they charge $45 an hour just for there labor. I am in the wrong trade :D

    On the same subject...

I've been seriously considering the burnt orange color that Ford is putting on zx2's and other rigs right now for my pile, but I just can't quite decide how it will look on a maverick.

    Any thoughts?

on my photo editing program which came with my scanner...it has a feature that I've used on my Mav pics...it changes the colour of my car and looks very real. I actually have a pic of my car now that I've change to the previous colour and it looks super.....just a thought
