looks like i'm gonna have to do it.. i put my hedman hedders in, which led me to the p/s cylinder drop bracket; which doesn't even make space between header and ps cylinder. i realized alot of guys on here put rack and pinion steering or manual steering on after headers? i need help. i want to make the MANUAL STEERING conversion, what do i need, how much is it going to set me back, and where can i get the parts. thank you people.

everything i mod on this car leads me to something else that has to be changed.

I used the drop bracket on my 74 for years with the Hedman headers, never had any issues. Mabye the one you have is too short?
To change to manual steering, you'll need a manual center link. I'm not sure if the idler arm is the same, but I think it is. Someguys even kept the power steering box, because it's suppose to have a quicker ratio..

Both the manual drag link (centerlink) and pitman arm can be ordered thru Autozone.com. Last I looked the two will set you back about 200-250 dollars. Vendor for both is "Rare Parts"

the drop bracket i used was a Hooker..i thought all the drop brackets would be the same? even if i bought a lower one, or fabricated something up to drop it even more it would be too close to the ground since my car is so low. i think i'll just go to manual steering, i like the simplicity. thank you for the information. any more is welcome

Years ago i didn't even use the bracket on my 74...I bought J.C. Whittney headers that also worked for 351W mustangs too, so I'm guessing they were longer(hung down lower) I actually sent it back.Of course i dont remember the make of the headers...I want to say Eagles but they're no longer around and I suffer from C.R.S. (cant remember stuff)
