I am getting ready to cut my fab'd tunnel 70 out and replace it with a 71 tunnel. I have a factory floor shift hump and would like to install it for a cleaner look other than just cut a hole in the tunnel.
Does anyone have a picture of one installed?

    Thanks,
    John

Don't forget to take pictures as you go. I'd like to see what you have to go through to get yours to fit :tiphat:

    I will do that.
Here is what I have to start with. I'll take the crossmember off since I don't need it. We mod'd mine and since my car is back-halfed I really don't need the structure.
I hope I got enough of the floor to make a smooth transition.

There should be dimples in the top of the 71 tunnel indicating where the hump is mounted. If not I have a tunnel and a hump that I can mock up.

I looked for the dimples but don't see any. It could be because someone cut holes and then tried to tack them back in.
I would appreciate it if you mocked them up so I can get an idea of where they go.
    Thanks

I looked closer and there is only a dimple in the center of where the hump would mount. I pretty much have the same parts that you already have. The is pretty much one point where the shifter hump fits the tunnel best. You can see the dimple in the second picture.

One last question, do you know how much of the tunnel is cut out when the hump is installed?

    Thanks,
    John

just cut out what you need to get the shifter mec. in through the tunnel.
if it's a cable shifter all you need is a...hole for the cable...

Frank, when the factory put in the hump, did they screw it onto the tunnel or did they spot weld it....................or both?

The hump was screwed to the floor. These pics should help indicate the hole size.
