My 73

Well....... I finally learned how to Post Pics. To make a long story short. I bought this 73 Maverick with a 250 I6 floor C4, from a "Craigslist" add for 800.00. Ryan Vink hooked me up with this car, Many thanks Ryan. I found a Donor 71 4 Dr. on "Craigslist" with a nice 302 7 Miles from my house for 300.00. Yeah Man......SWEET... Ive been
posting progress on the "What did you do to your ...Today" for over a month. If your interested check it out to get some History. These pics are the result of the aforementioned posts. This is the 73s progress right now.

And this is the state of the Donor 71 as of now.

I have 8 months to build this car for my God Sons Senior Prom. If you have ever been "Down Here" you would understand that I have been working outside in Temps over 110 degrees for this past month. Welcome to my world. Any Encouragement would be of Great Help.

No sympathy - Y'all always talk about that 'dry heat' after all!

Jokes aside, looking forward to watching this take shape in just 8 months. I hope the recipient appreciates all your hard work!

The bugs in Texas can survive the heat.

You got a project there. Post pics as you work on it. Always fun to see.

Now show them the before pics so they can see what you tore apart, I was thinking about buying the car at first to use as a driver.

If you are looking at power windows I can show you my setup when you are up here. I have a kit from AutoLoc that keeps the original crank regulators. I made custom door panels to go over the door after wards.

This is what I hope to get done between now and then.

1. Complete bare metal (paint strip, patch, rust proofing,) Slight tubbing and narrowing of leaf mounts(with my own mods),Sub Frame connecters,Cut the rain gutters, Lead the lines, no door handles, no chrome trim Doo Doo,(Smooth and slick), Painless remote harness,429 Boss hood scoop, small front modified bumper tuck, custom grill and spioler, rear bumper tuck, and Black Cherry Pearl Paint with Ford Metalic carbon acents in the Grabber style.

2. 302 short block rebuild (Summit Kit), Edelbrock top end kit(365HP). AOD Mod,(Many Thanks to Ryan Vink).

3.Electric windows,Carbon fiber door pannels.

Till I think of something really insane.
Thats the plan.

Got a surprise today. The top of the Dr side floor over the torque box was so rusted that the top of the torque box was rusted throug. So I cut the top of the torque box out and stuffed a towel soaked in Muratic acid inside, gonna leave it over night, see whats left in the morning. Not a big deal, Ill cut and weld a top on it after rust proofing the inside. Then cut and weld a patch for the floor.
