i saw somewhere that someone had a diagram of how to wire relays to the headlights to make them brighter. i did a search but could not find it. thanks for any help. yes there will be nannas..frank...L.T.N.G.:bananaman
http://www.madelectrical.com/electricaltech/brighter-headlights.shtml I think this is what you were looking for. I did this to my Mustang, they were only getting about 9.5 volts to the headlights w/o relay, and now they're getting full battery voltage and are 1000 times brighter than before. I highly recommend this as an upgrade. It's very simple.
Another place that has some pretty good diagrams and stuff is here: http://www.ford-trucks.com/articles/delanty/brighter_lights.html
hey 71gold.......The Eastwood company carries a 7 inch Xenon light kit for our cars you can get them for 49.99 the part number is 80115 you dont have to hack up your wiring then
if i can find it my brother knows of a kit to change over to those lil bulbs. if there is a power increase to the head lights then would silver stars still be legal?
johnson, those are the head lights i am looking at. i didn't know they were not legal for street. they are the reason i was going to do the light up grade. silver star are some brite lights. i need to do some more reading. thanks...frank...:bananaman :bananaman
Frank; I just bought all the stuff to do this, but have not done it yet. Ya want to do it Sunday, on my car? Kinda use it as a guinee pig for the rest of us. Then, we can let the others know what kind of problems we had, or didn't have. This seems like a great mod, and one that will save us a lot of headaches in the future. Let me know, and I will bring the stuff. Earl
earl i was going to suggest using my car but we can do yours first. i made a copy of the instructions for the "ford enthusiasts" wireing. was this the one you want to use? are you going to put the wires in a wrap or just tape them? email me your list of parts and if we need anything else i can get it on this end. will fried chicken and iced tea be o.k. for lunch? ...frank...:bananaman :bananaman
Frank; as for lunch, that is perfect. I have the two relays, a fuse block, wire (red, black, green, 14ga), connectors and a multimeter. I also have ring connectors, butt connectors, a soldering iron and that should be everything we need. All you should have to get are the relays and the fuse block and a few connectors, I have plenty of wire. See you Sunday!!! Earl
Frank; I am going to tape the wires until I can decide how to dress them up real nice. I am using the same diagrams. This should not be too hard to do. Earl
earl, did you get the bosch 5 conn. relays? i am going tomorrow and get my stuff. i will get some 18ga in red and green. i am also going to get new plugs for the headlites. if you want i can pic you up a set. call me tomorrow nite and we will get it all together. do you think your tester can read the volts it is pulling now. that way we will know if there is enough diff. to need to do it in the first place....frank...:bananaman :bananaman
hey now this is almost uncool look at everyone here. close to somebody and yet i havent found a one anywhere near.
