My '73 Comet GT Restoration Thread

Hey all. Its time to start the fun once again. My first restoration was was back in 1998 during high school. Back then I re-did it basically back to stock, with the exception of a 4-speed, wheels other small modifications. I also kinda cloned the GT's, cause they are so dang sexy. Unfortunately, over the past 10 years my car has sat outside for extended periods time while I was serving overseas/in college/etc.

My wish list has grown over the years, so hopefully I will be able to do everything that I want this go around. Ive seen other restoration threads, and its been neat following along, so I thought I would try one too. Let the fun begin!

Some of you might recognize the 'new shed'. Its nice.

Good luck. I have always liked GT. What do you plan to do to it anyways? Any new paint and extras?

New paint but sticking with silver on Blue, new wheels, disc all way round. I just picked up some buckets (thanks Seth), gonna do a bumper tuck. All new drive train, thinking EFI, 5-speed. Its a LONG wish list. But that's the fun.

Thanks, Ill let my dad know. He retired about a year ago, so we decided to get the workshop of our dreams. Turns out we had collected quite a bit of supplies. And a GM dealership that we were related to shutdown, so we got first dibs on free goodies. Everything from fluids, to bulbs, to brake line, to fuses, to basically anything from the parts department we wanted. We also got some nice shop equipment too.

I actually bought it out of JCWhitney years ago. Its aftermarket, supposed to resemble the Pontiac style tach. Pontiac styles are lower and wider. Ford styles were taller. I've since found some cooler ones, check these out:

The Paddock

I say if it looks good and you like, then who cares what style it is.

Whats the SDM Maverick?

EDIT: Ok, now I get it. Shelby de Mexico Maverick.
