I need to install a Hitch on my 1974 Maverick. But I´m having hard time finding it.

DO you know where I can find one ?
Perhaps any of you have one on sale?
    Suggestions?

    Thanks!

I had to have one made for mine. Unless you can find a NOS style one in a junkyard or from someone here I don't think anyone is making one for these cars.

I prefabbed the pieces myself and paid a friend $100 to weld it for me since I didn't have a welder. I think all in it cost about $200 including welding.

I modified a factory trailer hitch for my Mav. I made it into a receiver style from the tongue style.

I got lucky with mine, it had one on it when I bought it. I dug around in my box of trailer balls and somehow came up with a "Shelby" 2" ball to put on it. That oughta give it another 15 hp. I'll try and get some pics of the hitch and post em in case someone wants to try and copy it.

I think I may still have one that came on my 74 Comet when I bought it back in 1985, will give me an excuse to dig it out......curious now to see if it was dealer install as I remember it had undercoating on it from when it was sprayed when new. I know it was quite heavy and chromed, so shipping would be a killer..........

Could not dig it out for pics, but mine was 2" wide x 3/8" thick flat bar that was mounted using
the inner bolts of the 74-77 rear bumper shock absorbers, the receiver where the ball
mounts is 1/2" thick x 2" flat bar. Whole thing was chromed, so whether or not it was dealer
installed or aftermarket, I do not know for sure.....

I have two hitches. One is aftermarket and one is a Ford unit. You can email me at mavguy70@gmail.com for pics and info.
