Well, I finally got a chance to sit down to the map to see where we're going for Roundup 2007.

I am driving a little over 1500 miles next year, but I WILL BE THERE!!!!

Just for the perspective: New Castle was 1200 miles and Owenboro was only 1000 miles

    Waco was 100 miles

Sitting here reading these entries about NEXT year's roundup makes me wonder about the perception of the way folks think. some have said yes they will make it and drive the distance, some have said they will try, others are already saying that they will not have enough money for the trip...it's over 10 months away! just think, 43 weeks until 2007 roundup and if you do some simple math then you can figure a way to make it. just cut out a couple of lunches during the week, $20. a week for 43 weeks is $860.00!! aren't you going to save up for the trip anyway?? just add this difference to the amount you were going to save and the difference will get you there. I know I didn't make this years roundup and I had plans to attend, but when you get a major contract for work you just can't leave it and it happened right before the RU.I know I'm just a lowly member and my opinion might not mean much but if you really want to do something ,then you can find a way to make it happen. I agree that moving the RU around would be a good idea and it will take a willingness to stepup and take charge and make the commitment for it to happen, but the benefits out weigh the negative. come on guys (and girls) let's keep this thing going and stay strong, who know's it might even happen on the left coast. jmo on this. have a great day!!!!!!!!!!

    Great words Wayne. (y)

I know for me this is a great opportunity to see the Nation's Capital...something I probably wouldn't do on my own. Plus....with the discount rates the MCCI is getting on the hotel.....it is well worth the trip.

Those figures almost make me feel like I live in the DC neighborhood! :D

Yes, several times I've thought about just staying at home in my garage because of the past turnouts at the Texas mini-meets. This year we actually topped the number of Mavericks in my garage, even though I had two cars at the meet Saturday! (y)

I still am not sure. I've got a spark to all cylinders. (In fact I had a spark in all 8 at the Roundup. For some reason my induction clamp on my tack doesn't pick up on the last 6 or 8 inches of the number one wire at the spark plug end).

I think I'm just drowning in gas. With only 150 miles on the plugs, the two plugs you can pull easily (1 and 5) were carboned up big time! I don't know about this Edelbrock carb the old man put on this car! Might have to go back to the 4100 we all know better.

If you pull a hose off of the vacuum tree in back of the carb, the idle improves Bigtime! Getting a lot more air for that high dosage of gas, I guess.

One thing odd: The distributor is dropped in 45 degrees clockwise from the standard position. The number one wire is at approx. 3 'O Clock (or the number one wire is two away instead of one away from the back clip). The rotor DOES line up with the number one wire at TDC, however.

I sprayed the whole motor with carb cleaner while running and the idle didn't change. (I'm assuming no vacuum leak).

    Anyone have any ideas?

I wondered why my hair was always curly when I got out of that car! :yikes:
