I had a great time too. Being around that many Maverick people was very nice. I'm not in the group photo since I left early. I guess I didn't win anything :rofl2: Or did they have an award for the ugliest heap?
I made it home, had to get right to the track. We both went a couple of rounds, I lost due to a bad reaction time (.050) I was just too wore out at 10:30 to "hit" the tree. Do we have to wait another year to hang out or is there other opportunities?
Now it's time to go fix the bad charging system on the car, a road trip is NOT the best time to figure out there is a problem!
It was great to meet everyone!!!!

Glad you got home ok to bad about the races. Will (thewill) was also there but left before the photos. I am up for another gathering anytime someone can think of something I'm in.

I've talked about a spring get-together in the past, but this time we'll do it. I want to have something in February or March 2009 while it is still cool. I will post some sort of plan this fall.

Yes, I have forgotten to acknowledge those who were at the meet on foot:

Will, Rhonda (Retta Ranch) and family, Ed (fan2488)

    Did I forget anyone?

Frank, I found that "Rudy's" bbq place I mentioned to you. It was great, wish we all could have met there afterwards... It is at exit 333A, Valley Mills and 35 on the east side service rd. Iced down cream soda and baby backs are great after all that hard judging.

I bought the Comet for my son Zack and brought him to his first car show. He was really surprised to hear his name called out. He didn't know I registered using his name. I figured it was only right since it is his car. :D
He mentioned that the old Comet stold his prize cause he thought maybe if that older one didn't sneak in he might of had a chance. But then he said maybe not cause the Stallion and the Dragonfly were hard to beat. He seems to think that if I ever finish my GT that I might have a chance against his car...:16suspect
Finally, something other than video games he says he likes.

I don't know them by face so I guess I missed them... Ed I have met before and I didn't see him either, or did I .

Yes, I thought it was weird putting the Cyclone in our class and he got 2nd in the Maverick/Comet class. (I guess some people think a Comet is a Comet, unfortunately. The same thing has happened to us at Ford Carlisle, too).

At either rate, Frank took home the 1st place in the Maverick/Comet class AND...

Zack took home the furthest distance driven to the show!

    Congrates to you all!!

We had a great time, put some names and cars together. Got some help in locating some parts, too. Everyone was very helpful. Thanks! It now seems that the list of things to do on my daughter's car is longer than before. She's also decided we need to visit the track in Kennedale. Hmm, I can see where this is going. :chirp:
