What's a good way to get the engine bay clean, can I spray some degreaser and just spray water on it or will the water damage the engine? And what's a good degreaser??

Make sure that you cover distributor good and alternator and carb, any of the store bought degreasers work about the same (lousy). Do not spray when engine is hot. I prefer the foamy type .You have to scrub to get most of the stuff off and simple green works about as good as any product. If you are not concerned about the enviroment diesel, kerosene or other petroleum based products and a parts cleaning brush work the best. Access to a stem cleaner works wonders

Lots of scrubbing and power wash. I believe mine was pressure washed at least three times. Brian(seller) did it at least once and I did so twice.

Removal of items works best, here's how I did mine.

Got to this point and said skroo it.

I have used oven cleaner with some success, usually go to the dollar store for the cheap stuff.

Spray n wash. I started using it on motorcycles and have used it on some engine bays and all over. I don't know how it would do on thick greasy parts but it removes oil and grime well.

I've looked at a lot of factory engines, no idea where the aftermarket came up with light blue for a Ford engine. Not till '90s when people started using that crap on rebuilt engines, did I see light blue. Looks like ass.

In the '80s I was at the auctions at least once a week, none of the engines in any Ford product was light blue. There are two shades of dark blue, but neither could have been called light.
