Remember gang....there is another FFW race on Memorial Day weekend in Belle Rose, Louisiana. Those of you who cannot make this one should plan on being there. Any race track that has a full service bar on the bottom floor of the timing tower can't be all bad!!!!

Well, yesterday I fixed a few corroded grounds that were causing more electrical problems. The engine runs a lot smoother now. I then dumped the 93 octane out and will go with 110 at the track tomorrow evening. I hope to make a few test 1/8th mile passes.

Although it's gloomy out tonight, the weather is supposed to be good this weekend: 88/73 and 88/71 w/only a 10 cent chance of the R word.

I 'plan' on being there a little after noon tomorrow - staying until Sunday eve.

Safe Travels to all who are headed to FFW Houston. 'See ya there.

Did you really just dump the gas out at nearly $3.00 a gallon? :49: lol

Looks like we're going to have a good handful of people. That's great!

ha! That gas was a couple of weeks old. It was probably only $2.80 or so then - still a lot less than the 110 (I have no idea how much the track charges for the 'good stuff' - maybe $7-8ish/gallon  ).

    See ya Saturday.

OK, so where/how are we meeting again???

I was going to go back and look but saw that there were 5 pages to read through, figured it would be easier to just ask...

I know it is 9AM, but where, how, etc....

Since we aren't going to have many Mavericks, it will be hard to locate everyone, yes! Since we had no objections to paying $35 to get into the pits, lets meet in the pits area at 9 AM. I was going to suggest to the far right as you enter there is a grassy area, it might be cooler over there. (I am going to try to get there before 9 AM, but the 185 mile trip makes it hard to pinpoint my arrival time). You can call me at (512) 217-1115 on my cell to locate me. Also, Rick Book will be in the pit area somewhere with his red 1970 Maverick. I will try and keep him informed as to where we will be located.

It was great to see the "Out of Towners" and the locals at FFW on Saturday.

Wish I could've spent more time hanging out with you guys but all the "demons" in the red Maverick kept me pretty busy Fri/Sat.

I did manage to get both Mavericks up there at one time for a short while. Doug has some pictures of our "scrambled" cars that I'm sure he'll post up soon.

I think there was a total of 7 Mavericks at one time (3 racers, my 2, Doug's and Ed Davis's).

    re: "The runs" ;)
I had alternator probs all weekend long. "No juice = no go." :(

The best it'd do on a charged-up battery, only, (no alternator belt) was a 11.5 in the 1/4 with a 1.5 60' (7.5 in the 1/8th), banging most of the way down the track.

Oh well, it was fun hanging out with friends and watching races for three days in a row anyway. "Just wait 'till next year. ;)

I just put the red one ('70) away and the trailer dropped off. This all started at 7:00 Friday morning. Here it is at 7:10 on Sunday, and I am one "tarred" ol' man. :whew:

Glad you made it home safely Rick!

You all can check out a few pictures I posted on The Other Fun Ford Weekend Post (In fact, Rick took some of them. Thanks Rick)
