I once owned a '85 Grand Marquis. Every time I bought engine parts, I had to buy for a 1984. Monday's leftovers on Tuesday?

Does it appear to have been dissassembled? Perhaps somebody already swapped their front drums with your cars disc's?

Yes definately buy it. Drop a new motor and tranny in it and new seats and you will have a great maverick.

the thought crossed my mind however i just got an orginal 1975 dealer pamphlet. and it says that "Power Front Disc Brakes. Brand-new options for '75. Straight-line stops with less pedal effort. Available all models. Manual Front Disc Brakes also available." see picture.

it states that its an option however it also states nothing about it being standard so i'd say my the cheap model and disk were an option and it just came with drums.

nah what i'm saying is they disc were options according to the dealer flyer. and drums were standard. and it must be if yours and mine both have drums

Disc were an option in 75. Most of the time, Ford sends cars to dealers with certain options already installed. Kinda like forcing them on you. They still do this by the way. Therefore in 75 it could be either. In 76, disc became standard.

Let us know when you pick it up.

if you don't, I may have a home for it :) send the tow truck to my place :)

thats a great score. should be smog exempt next year too, so you may want to wait to get it running for another 6 months or so.
